Who Is Dr. Tony Thomas?
Dr. Tony Thomas, MD, was born in Texas. He was raised in San Antonio until he was thirteen when his family moved to Seattle. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 1998. In 2003, he moved to New York and graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in 2007.
What Is Dr. Tony Thomas Known For?
Dr. Thomas believes in employing cutting-edge dental technology to educate patients and make their visits more comfortable. He spends his time and energy learning about new technology and how to apply it in practice to help patients.
His Vision
When he returned to San Antonio, he wanted to open a dental clinic where he could continue to help those who were terrified of going to the dentist. Dr. Thomas is constantly extending his understanding of dentistry through continuing education. In 2014, he finished different seminars and workshops with Spear Education and became certified in IV sedation.
His Goals
His goal has always been to change people's opinions about dentists and give patients a serene, pleasant environment. He has been happy to be a part of the Advanced Smile Care team since 2019, and he hopes to change patients' negative impressions of dentistry for the better.
His Educational Background
Dr. Thomas acquired conscious IV sedation training from the Department of Dentistry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine - Montefiore Medical Center in 2014. This has allowed him to care for many patients with severe dental phobias, allowing them to achieve their oral health needs while regaining their ability to smile.
He has also gone on to complete a one-year General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. Before returning to San Antonio in 2018, Dr. Thomas worked in the Greater NYC and Long Island area for 15 years, providing comprehensive dental care to patients, particularly those suffering from dental anxiety.
